Artist Objective/ Statement

The idea was simple: I wanted to cover the walls of visual art building with my thoughts about art that evolved through the past three and half years at school. The result is also quite simple. It's pretty much what the idea was about; temporarily claiming and the institutional space that had directed and framed how I was to make, experience and think about art as my own private space, I have transformed the space by spewing right back upon it what I have learned - or chosen not to learn.

Because after all, writing is about ownership. And as it will be made clear soon enough, art is about something not much different.

The Paper is Sensitive

During the course of exhibition, some of the paper might hang loose or fall down to the floor. This is inevitable as it is a temporary installation; the paper cannot be glued on the walls too strongly or it will damage the walls. If you see paper hanging loose please leave them as they are, or if you see it on the floor and you fear it might get lost, you can kindly put it in the all-purpose Mr. Goodies box (located at the end of the hall,  close to the freight elevator) photographed here.

put the stray paper here please! Mr. Goodies awaits you. (and kindly close the door after you're done.)

I will be checking back on the installation occasionally during the week to re-glue the paper back up in case they have fallen, so feel free to check back at them again! In the meantime, please proceed with care and caution around the work - thanks!
